The Temperature Control Unit is designed to maintain a stable core temperature in small animals during experimental research in particular in combination with MACU.
It is one part of the MACUŽ-System, used for experimental animal research and is particularly developed for use in the MRI.
The Temperature Control Unit can be used in mobile applications like medres’ mobile surgical lab UMAC due to its small and light design.
Three redundant power supplies control the heating and the cooling of the device. Self-locking water connectors allow fast and secure switching of warming devices. Small temperature probes with three-wire technique measure the temperature of the water and the animal with an accuracy of less than 0.1°C.
An PID element reacts on changes in the animal's temperature immediately and adjusts the water temperature to correct the animal's core temperature. The actual temperature as well as the heating, cooling and other important status information are shown on the front side.
The requested animal core temperature can be easily set by the up and down buttons. An BNC output provides an analog temperature value.
An internal temperature switch-off protects the animal from overheating by technical or operating failure.
